12 & 6 Hours of Capitol Punishment Event Description
On June 23rd, 2012 racers will do “hard time” competing in the second annual 12 Hours of Capitol Punishment mountain bike relay race. A “plea bargain” is also being offered in the form of a 6 Hour event just for soloists and duo teams. Join us for this festival style grand finale event to the mountain biking season – there will be music, food, prizes and more! A portion of all proceeds and 100% of raffle money will be donated to Friends of Capitol Forest, the stewards of our great venue!

Event Location
The race will be held at Capitol Forest, outside of Olympia, WA. The race will be staged at the Fall Creek Day Use Area: Venue Layout Map
Directions to Fall Creek Day Use Area
Take I-5 to Hwy 101 North, take the Black Lake blvd exit off of hwy 101, turn left onto Black lake blvd. Take Black Lake blvd to Delphi Rd, turn left. Take Delphi Rd to Waddell Creek Rd, turn right. Stay on Waddell Creek Rd (which turns into Sherman Valley Rd) until you reach gravel (C-Line Rd). Continue up on C-Line until you reach C-6000 road on your left. Follow C-6000 into the start area of Fall Creek parking area.
Parking
Parking is extremely limited! Carpooling is strongly recommended. The day use area will be the central hub for racers to gather and relax in between laps – all traffic and parking will be blocked from this area.
Race Course
The course is a 10-mile classic mountain biking loop in Capitol Forest. It is a semi-technical single track with a rolling climb and fluid descent with intermittent technical sections. It offers a challenge for less experienced riders as well as satisfaction for the more seasoned.

Race Time
The race time is 9 am – 9 pm. The last lap will start by 7:59:59 pm – no racers will be allowed out after 8 pm.
*There will be no cutoff for 6 hour racers.

Camping
VERY LIMITED first come/first serve camping is available for no charge at Fall Creek Campground. There are eight primitive camp sites, each large enough to hold a few tents. No RV hookups, no electricity, no running water. Fire rings, picnic tables and several outhouses are available in the campground. Check back here for information on camping and nearby accommodations.
Food and Beverages
South Pierce Fire and Rescue (SPFR) will be on site providing a pasta plate for every registered racer and our volunteer crew. The meal will be pasta with your choice of sauce, salad and bread. Additional plates are available for family and friends for $5.00. 100% of proceeds from the pasta feed will go back to SPFR’s Volunteer Association. Thank you SPFR!
Family Friendly
The format of this event lends itself well to a fun day for the entire family. You can be cheered across the finish line multiple times throughout the day, with plenty of down time between laps to hang out with family and friends and a chance to explore the woods and nearby creek.

12 Hour 5 Person+ Class: “Here for the Beer” riders – all ages, any gender, just for fun
There must be a minimum of 3 participants to make a category and the race director reserves the right to combine categories as necessary.

Early-bird Fee: $75 per 12 Hour Hard Time Racer / $50 per 6 Hour Plea Bargain Racer

Cancellations: Due to the enormous amount of planning and resources that go into this event there are NO REFUNDS.
